Traditional Glass Painting, Fused Glass & Stained Glass Course
Session One – Painting & Fused Glass (Full Day)
The course begins with a full day dedicated to designing and creating the individual glass elements that will become part of your finished panel.
You'll learn traditional glass painting techniques and create decorative details using specialist glass paints before experimenting with compatible fusible glass to make unique fused glass features. At the end of the day, your work will be kiln fired, permanently fusing and firing the individual pieces ready for the next stage of the course.
Session Two – Building Your Panel (Half Day)
Once the kiln firings are complete, we'll bring all of the individual elements together.
During this session you'll assemble your painted and fused glass pieces into the final design, preparing the panel ready for leading. Any additional kiln firing required will be completed before the final session, ensuring your artwork is ready for its finishing stages.
Session Three – Traditional Stained Glass (4 Hours)
In the final session you'll complete your panel using traditional stained glass techniques. You'll learn how to lead your design, solder each joint, and cement the finished panel, creating a strong, weatherproof stained glass artwork that beautifully showcases your painted and fused glass elements.
Small Classes, Personal Tuition
To ensure everyone receives plenty of individual guidance, class sizes are limited to just four students. This allows for extensive one-to-one tuition throughout every stage of the course, whether you're picking up a glass cutter for the first time or building on existing stained glass skills.
By the end of the course, you'll have experienced three complementary glass-making disciplines and created a truly individual stained glass panel that combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary creativity. It's a rewarding and inspiring way to discover the remarkable possibilities of working with glass.
